<[[NotBrennen]]> Yeah, I recently was promoted from random office temp to software engineer (which was a mess, but that's another story). The temp agency (manpower) had a contract with the employer stating that they couldn't hire me without paying some insane price - $4,000/month for a long time. This makes sure that they keep getting their rent money for every hour I work. So beware of any promotions or changes in your job -- it's all pretty much red-tape and legal problems from day one.
<[[Brennen]]> Yeah, I talked to a guy the other day who used to manage a shop somewhere in Boulder. He said Manpower's contract usually included an explicit clause stating that you couldn't hire people away from them directly. Also said that he used to tell people "Go quit at Manpower; you start here tomorrow.", which makes me think he was probably a cool guy to work for.
<[[Molly]]> glad you're seemingly back up and running again.
<[[Brennen]]> Thanks. It kind of made my day.
