KennethRexroth wrote about lit, poetry, politics, painting, music, sex, religion, mysticism, contemplation, history, science, philosophy, ecology, education. Some a lot and some just a little, but most of the interesting things.

DavidJamesDuncan writes about a lot of the same things, with more fishing and rivers and suchlike, and more God, and I suppose a different outlook.

GeorgeOrwell hits a lot of that list too, but with more emphasis on the lit, the politics, the poetry, a wealth of -isms. Keywords might be socialism, England, English, totalitarianism, fascism, nationalism, the second world war. His vision doesn't always seem as broad, or as clean and lucid and bracing, as KR's, but there is much honesty and careful thought.
