<[[Brennen]]> I visited the Amanas three or four times with my parents when I was younger. From what I can remember, it's pretty thoroughly touristified, but not entirely without interest. I don't think I had much interest in the idea of religious community at the time, but there was kind of a fascination about the place's history even so. Also, I remember a cool candle store, a decent winery, really good dried beef, and a German-American restaurant with pretty authentic fare.
