(2010 NaNo) I'm already cheating massively, but will attempt to set myself a few basic standards regardless: * No writing for a technical audience. ** So, for example, no writing about programming unless it's writing about programming that a non-programmer could conceivably care about. ** Screenshots should be kept to a minimum. ** No more general software-wank. Probably. * Quotations will be included in overall wordcount because I'm too lazy to extract them, and anyhow I need all the help I can get. * Hyperbolic political ranting must justify its existence on grounds other than the ease of producing wordcount with hyperbolic political ranting. * Hand-drawn comics and photographs are legal, but don't count for any more than the original words (dialog, captions, etc.) they contain. * From here on out, research and citations must be at least one reasonable remove from just reading/linking the Wikipedia article. * Keep a lid on the mystical horseshit. * ASCII art is legal. * Any purpose-built software will be released to the public, as usual, but code may or may not be included in final wordcount depending on how desperate I get.
