<[Anonymous]> The idea that nothing has changed is never a welcome thought. Neither are the feelings that come from reflecting on how different the past is from the perpetually more stressful present. It makes you wonder how much worse it will be, spending hours on end reviewing your life, as you lie waiting for the cold grasp of death near the end of your life. The painful question asked while reflecting on the past isn't "What if," it's "What did I miss out on?" - For me personally, this is the most emotionally devastating thing to ever consider.
