  21. <ul>
  22. <li> In his youth, Londo was a swordfighter of no small repute, and House
  23. Mollari was one of the most well-respected in the Republic.
  24. <li> Earth Force has confiscated all the files on the Babylon 4 incident (cf.
  25. <a href="020.html">"Babylon Squared,"</a>)
  26. but Garibaldi had the foresight to make a copy first.
  27. <li> Refa and his associates on Centauri Prime are consolidating their
  28. power by having their political opponents declared traitors. Some
  29. of those opponents are well aware of his involvement in the
  30. assassination of the Prime Minister (cf.
  31. <a href="031.html">"The Coming of Shadows."</a>)
  32. </ul>
  33. <h2><a name="UQ">Unanswered Questions</a></h2>
  34. <ul>
  35. <li> What was the creature? Was it involved somehow in Babylon 4's
  36. movement through time, or did it just happen by Sector 14 after the
  37. fact?
  38. <li> Will Londo's support of Urza have an effect on Refa's plans?
  39. </ul>
  40. <h2><a name="AN">Analysis</a></h2>
  41. <ul>
  42. <li> The fact that there's still a spacetime rift of some sort in Sector
  43. 14 suggests that it may be possible to travel freely back and forth
  44. between 2259 and whenever the creature came from. Unless, of course,
  45. the creature was involved in Babylon 4's time travel; in that case,
  46. its presence may have caused the rift to reopen.
  47. <li> Londo believes he has a destiny to fulfill. What exactly does he
  48. think it is? Is it based in part on his dream? (cf.
  49. <a href="031.html">"The Coming of Shadows"</a>)
  50. Or is it a more general notion of bringing the Centauri back to power
  51. with the help of Morden, without any specific role for himself?
  52. </ul>
  53. <h2><a name="NO">Notes</a></h2>
  54. <ul>
  55. <li> The names of the last Centauri Emperor and Prime Minister, Turhan and
  56. Malachi respectively, just happen to be the first names of the
  57. actors who played those roles in
  58. <a href="031.html">"The Coming of Shadows."</a>
  59. <li> Garibaldi and Sheridan were getting a large number of foul balls on
  60. the baseball diamond. Since the station is spinning,
  61. the Coriolis effect would make playing baseball an interesting
  62. proposition, to say the least, especially near the center of
  63. rotation -- a high enough ball would pass beyond the axis and
  64. land on some other section of the interior, perhaps even the
  65. "ceiling!"
  66. <li> Visual gaffe: When Londo was knocked down and he dropped his
  67. sword, the sword fell and skidded on Londo's left. But when
  68. he reached for the sword to deliver the fatal blow, it
  69. appeared that he reached to his right.
  70. <li>@@@890036592 Effects glitch: In the closing shot of the station,
  71. the background starfield and part of Epsilon 3 are briefly visible
  72. through the docking bay, as if part of the station has just turned
  73. transparent.
  74. <li> The Centauri method of dealing with traitors -- execution followed by
  75. confiscation of property -- is similar to what the Romans used to do,
  76. and it apparently has the same effect. Romans who knew they were about
  77. to be convicted of treason often committed suicide to prevent their
  78. families' inheritances from being seized.
  79. </ul>
  80. <h2><a name="JS">jms speaks</a></h2>
  81. <ul>
  82. <li> <a name="JS:foul">Actually,</a>
  83. Sheridan WAS hitting fair and home run balls in the front
  84. of the show; later, though, when he was more rattled, they were all
  85. foul.
  86. <li> Actually, the chronological order was *supposed* to be "Knives," THEN
  87. "Z'ha'dum." In "Knives" you get the reminder about Anna, then in
  88. "Z'ha'dum" you get the payoff. That was originally how they were
  89. intended to be aired, but there was *so much* CGI work and rotoscope
  90. work and creature animation involved in "Knives" that it got flopped
  91. to second in that order. So while it works *best* the way it was
  92. intended, it still works okay in this order.
  93. <li> Correct, the critter in "Knives" was most *definitely* not a
  94. Vorlon.
